Chris McCabe
Property Manager

Chris was born and raised in the Bay Area, spending most of her years residing in Fremont, CA.  After graduating with a Computer Science Degree from DeVry Institute of Technology in Phoenix Arizona, she returned to Fremont to help run the family accounting and tax business, until it was sold in 2000.  With a background in accounting, she began working with a commercial property management firm as their accountant.  Finding the real estate and property management industry to be very exciting, she obtained a California Real Estate Sales License and began her career in real estate sales and property management in 2002. During her 15 years in the industry, she has managed commercial and residential properties throughout the greater Bay Area.  Chris spends her leisure time piloting her hang glider above the majestic views of Northern California and beyond, as well as enjoying the scenic views from the road on her motorcycle.  She also enjoys spending quality time with her 2 grown up kids, camping, snow skiing, hiking, dirt bike riding, and most all outdoor sports and activities.  

Teresa Underwood
Controller

Teresa has been employed with Zell Associates, Inc. since 1996 and serves as our company's Controller. She has extensive experience as an on-site manager for medium to large apartment complexes and has been a Property Manager for medium-size apartment buildings and single family homes. Teresa received a bachelor's degree in accounting from St. Mary's College and holds a California Real Estate Agent's license.

Marie Jasinsky
Vice President, Regional Property Manager, Agent

Marie is the Regional Manager of our Northern Santa Clara County portfolio and has been part of the Zell Associates, Inc. team since 1992. Marie has extensive experience managing residential real estate, both apartment complexes as well as single family homes and is also versed in single family home real estate sales. During her 25 year tenure with Zell Associates she has served as an on-site resident manager for properties as large as 145 units, at one time was the office manager for our corporate office in San Jose as well as held the position of Director of the Single Family Division. She studied advertising and marketing at San Jose University and holds a California Real Estate Agent's License. She was born and raised in the Bay Area and can't image calling anywhere else home. She is married and has three children, two of which are currently attending college and one in elementary school. In her spare time Marie enjoys traveling to faraway lands, cooking for friends and family and interior decorating.

Robert Burba
Property Manager, Broker

Robert Burba is a property manager and Broker with Zell Associates who manages a large portfolio of both multifamily buildings and single family homes.  Robert has been managing investment properties in the bay area for over 15 years and has extensive experience in all aspects of investment property including management, maintenance, taxation, finance and 1031 tax deferred exchanges.   Always quick with a joke or a smile Robert truly enjoys working with his clients, resident managers and colleagues.  An active adventurer Robert enjoys on and off road motorcycle riding, mountain biking, hiking and camping in his off time.

Jeffrey Zell
President, Property Manager, Broker

Jeff graduated with a bachelor's degree in Finance from San Jose State University and followed it up with an MBA from Santa Clara University. After a successful career as a solutions provider for high-tech startups in Silicon Valley, Jeff joined Zell Associates, Inc. in 2009 to continue his father's legacy of professional property management with honesty, integrity, and aligned philosophical investment goals. He currently manages a portfolio of multi-family properties throughout Santa Clara County. In his spare time, Jeff enjoys his children, ice hockey, snow skiing, baseball, and four wheeling. Jeff holds a California Real Estate Broker's license.

Sherman Zell
President Emeritus, Broker

Sherman graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in electrical engineering and took a position with IBM as an engineering project manager. After a successful career at IBM, Sherman then entered the real estate field by opening Zell Associates, Inc. in 1974. Since that time, Sherman has been committed to providing professional and quality property management and real estate services with honesty, integrity and the philosophy that the investment goals of our clients are always paramount.

Sherman has been certified in Santa Clara County's Federal Bankruptcy Court as an expert in residential income property and has acted as a Court Appointed Receiver for major financial institutions as well as private investors. He actively holds a California Real Estate Broker's License, BRE# 00797395.

Sherman currently resides in beautiful Lake Tahoe enjoying such activities as snow skiing, ATV riding, and snowmobiling, He also donates his time and math expertise to a local 3rd grade class and is an accomplished Toastmaster.
